Dr Rami's Mission Rant
Dentists are scary. Lets face it. Its a hard place for people to be, especially often. My goal as a Dentist is to provide you and your family the best dental experience I can and change the stereotype. My amazing team and I strive to make the environment laid-back, blast music, make jokes, and make it fun.
Dentalcare in Canada is becoming more and more corporate. This means multiple offices are run by a central entity more like franchises. This is happening all around The Bay of Quinte, not just in large centres like Toronto. To me this means sales quotas, bonuses based on treatments, streamlined efficiencies, discounted dental supplies and a divergence from quality care. I have seen countless new patients show me elaborate estimates and "necessary" treatments that really were not justified (in my opinion). I truly hope I can show my patients that there are many, often cost effective, alternative treatments.
We are not a fancy "car dealership" type office. We don't have TVs on the ceilings or PlayStations in the waiting room. We do not treat insurance plans. We treat you! This means we recommend what we think is best for you and your loved ones and truly try to focus on prevention. Prevention dentistry translates to regular cleanings to prevent gum disease and health issues, fluoride to prevent cavities and fillings, nightguards to prevent sensitivity, broken teeth and fillings.

We are blessed to be VERY busy for a small office and often the phones are constantly ringing. If you cannot reach a staff member PLEASE leave a message or WRITE an email so we can get back to you and have a way of tracking any missed communications.
My Insurance Does Not Cover It!
We are NOT your insurance company. Our staff will not know why something is covered or not. Our team makes recommendations based on what we think is right for you - not your insurance company. If you are concerned please ask us and we are more than happy to provide estimates.

The plan will NOT cover 100% of the current Ontario Dental Association fee guide, even if it says "100% covered". Confusing right?
Please ask us for estimates and we will be happy to provide them and explain all fees and charges where applicable.

When I was in dental school, an instructor told me after a long and tough day, over a cold beer, "If you want to succeed in dentistry, treat every patient like your mother".
That simple advice is the foundation for how I approach each patient I see. I try to be thorough, gentle, caring and provide the level of quality work my mom would be proud of.

Don't get us a wrong, we have an excellent team of qualified and trained professionals, but lets face it, most patients are scared of the dental office.

We know the stigma dental offices can have, and we strive to change this. We offer a no-pressure, no-sales approach to healthcare. We give you options, explain them, and try our best to guide you to avoid having issues altogether! Our focus is prevention and if we can avoid picking up a drill-- we will.
NO Assembly Lines...
We are an independent, family-owned, family-run dental office that has been in Picton for over 30 years! We don't ever want our patients to feel like they are part of an assembly line in a mega clinic.
We are not corporately owned and not part of any chain.
Dr Rami has only one office to focus on - which means you always see him - ensuring consistency and quality in you and your family's care.
We offer all aspects of dental care for you and your family including emergency procedures, implants, cosmetics and whitening!
Insurance or no Insurance?...that is not the question!
We are here to treat you and your loved ones oral health the best way we can. This means we provide recommendations regardless of dental insurance coverage. Insurance helps and many are fortunate to have it, but it does not mean we treat anyone any differently. Your health is our priority, not your insurance plan.
We are happy to help provide estimates if requested, but we are NOT your insurance company.
SAME DAY EMERGENCIES!
We never want you to suffer. If you have a dental emergency or looking for an emergency dentist and are in pain, contact us.
